School Building Appeals

In 2004 to celebrate our Silver wedding we (Alan & Beryl Went) launched a fund to build a school in Kyetume, Masaka, Uganda. This appeal fund turned into an NGO (Charity) called Love in Action. The school is called Bright Stars Nursery & Primary School and it is owned and run by a local Pastor, Vincent Ssekibira, we are involved as friends and advisors, additionally we have one of our Directors, Susan Ddumba on the Board of Governors.
	These are pictures of the school as it was in May 2004. Love in Action has worked with local people to build a school building containing 6 classrooms, an office, and a library, toilets, and a kitchen. Our building work at this school is now completed. The cost of the work to build this whole project was approx £16000! Imagine a whole school for just £16,000!


Now Love in Action is seeking to build 2 more schools, 1 Secondary and another Primary School and a Girls Housing Project. Can you help? The needs here in Uganda are great, but the sums of money involved are in real terms small for what we are able to do!
Kyetume Parents Senior Secondary School Work has started on the Secondary School, which is next door to Bright Stars in Kyetume, at the time of writing in November 2007 the first 4 classrooms, toilets, and offices are finished. The 4th Phase will be a kitchen (£1000). The 5th Phase is a main hall and laboratory (£5000)

Christ's Embassy Primary School, Kasaka.
This is a smaller Primary School in a very, very poor village. Currently we have purchased the land (3 Acres) and put up a block of 4 classrooms one of which is being used as a temporary dormitory. This school is owned and managed by Love in Action. The plans for this school are to build the following Double Classroom with Staff Room (£6,000) A Dormitory block for the Boys & Girls who live at the school (£3500) Toilets for adults (£1,000) 4 Shower blocks (£1,500) Kitchen & Store (£2,000) Another Double Classroom (£5000) Please look at the Kasaka Page for the latest details of this project
