OPENING DAY

On 8th September 2004 we held the official opening ceremony for Phase 1 of the new Bright Stars Infant and Primary School.

It was a wonderful day, marred only by a torrential downfall a few minutes after we started. About 600 people gathered for the celebrations which started with a thanksgiving service. This was followed by speeches by Local Councillors, Pastors and Education Officials. Musical interludes were provided by Bright Stars pupils, Kyetume Parents Senior Secondary School and Degeya Liberty Church Choir. (The church which is led by Pastors Vincent & Samuel). Alan & Beryl both made short speeches Beryl made hers in Luganda & English. Alan surprised every one by greeting people in Runyankole, Luganda and English! (16 words total!!! - Beryl!)

The guest of honour was Mrs Jacquie Ford of Windows of Hope Children's Ministry based here in Masaka.
