This was our first project in Uganda, opened in September 2004.

It all started with an idea of producing a web site for the many churches in Masaka, when we launched the site (www.masaka.ug) in June 2003 with an open day for the various pastors. On this day we learned of the need for an Internet Cafe, said "No way!" but then God intervened and 10 weeks later we opened the doors.

Now we have 14 computers available for customers and have hundreds of customers who come in for research, emailing, typing, photocopying and web design. We run a series of computer courses teaching people to use this technology well.

We have 6 members of staff, all of whom, knew nothing about computers before they joined us.

Now I have handed over the day-to-day running of the cafe to Susan and all the others are superb at helping and training customers.

The biggest problem we face is the unreliable electricity supply, at the moment power is on for 24 hours and then off for 24 hours - with bonus power cuts on the 'on days'!!
