BUILDING A SCHOOL UGANDA STYLE

On 5th July 2004 We started building at Bright Stars Nursery & Primary School.

Here are the pictures from the small ceremony we held to mark this day!

Thursday 8th July 2004

Angel is laying the foundation (left) and above the wall being built.

Thursday 30th July - 3 weeks later!

Ready for the roof!

The building is progressing, wooden beams have been laid on top of the walls and bond with iron ready to support the roof

Working Hard

The builders are all working very hard, they start at 7am each day and finish at 7pm. No work is carried out on Sundays.

Good Foundations

Broken rocks are used to provide a good solid floor.

Floor Part 2!

James shows how deep the foundation of the floor is - crushed rock will be added up to the level of his folded arms.

On 8th September the building was finished and opened.
